Basic, reliable printer May 5, 2010 Constant Learning This is a small, effective printer. Although it has few additional features, it does well with printing, which is all I needed it to do.
I have used this printer for several weeks and have printed over 500 pages. The printer software has been warning me that the ink cartridge (the introductory one) will need to be replaced, but so far I have noticed no difference in the print quality.
Bang for the Buck! April 23, 2010 C. Wu This is an entry level B&W laser printer that does nothing but print black and white. For the price, it does a pretty decent job at that. With that said, the printer does not accept custom paper feed such as envelop, and will tend to have paper jam if you have some type of wrinkles. Otherwise, it's a great bang for your buck! Good buy! If you are a student like me, who needs to print tons of articles and paper and is in need of a relatively inexpensive printer. This is it! In addition, I find the price of replacement toner to be relatively tolerable too.
Really great printer!! April 14, 2010 Juni V I bought this printer at the start of my freshman year of college and now that my year is almost up, my printer is still living strong. I'm still using the tester cartridge it came with. I did some guess-timation and I think I've printer about 800-900 pages so far. Just today the toner light was blinking yellow but I'm sure I can squeeze out a dozen more pages before the year ends. A lot of kids who live on my floor flock to me to use my printer, which comes to be a great annoyance. I think the life of my toner would have been double if not for them. Before buying a laser printer, I went through 3 HP inkjet printers and they were all about the same price of this Brothers laser printer. I bought mine from staples for 60 dollars. Though the toner is a bit (only a little bit) more expensive, in the long run you'll save more money. When I had my color inkjets, I had to buy a cartridge for every color that was running low, and that racked up about thirty or more dollars every few weeks. Really if you bought this printer on sale like I did, it feels like its worth more than what you paid for.
