We have had this printer for about 3 months, it prints great, has been a joy to use. The problem is, the "starter" toner, which claims a 1,000 page yield has printed about 200 pages, and says it is empty. Upon calling Brother, they say since it is a "starter" toner, I have to buy a new one. I have now elevated the complaint twice, awaiting a call back. If I had gotten at least 500 pages, I probably wouldn't be so unhappy, but 200 pages out of 1,000? Does that mean the regular 1,500 page toner cartridge will only produce 300 pages? If so, I don't want this printer anymore. But I don't think that is the case: I think the toner cartridge is defective -- it still has almost the same weight as it was when it was new (I work in an office, and a good way to estimate toner life is the weight of the cartridge).
Again, very good printer, but Brother customer service SUCKS!

I'd echo most of the positive reviews already mentioned: great value, fast start up, good print quality.
My biggest gripe is that this thing is useless for card stock. I've had this thing for two days and the paper jams 1 out of 5 and it curls the paper like crazy regardless of settings.
Returning this asap.

The printer is neat in size. I like the two toned color. It is easy to setup. I also like how the paper tray is inside the printer. It doesn't stick out or get in the way. K.

I was fed up with cleaning print heads on my inkjet printer just about every time I needed to print. I think I wasted more ink cleaning than printing. I noticed this Brother printer at a good price with a nice rebate. The installation with Vista (64bit) was simple and everything worked as it should. Takes just a few seconds to warm up, but after that, printed pages fly out. I'm happy with this printer and would recommend it to the average home user who occasionally needs to print in Black and White.
