This is a 1500mAh high capacity replacement battery. The higher the mAh rating, the more power a battery can store and the longer it will last per charge. It contains premium Japanese grade A battery cells and is guaranteed to outperform the original battery. It is CE certified and built to meet or exceed the OEM specification. It is guaranteed to safely power all cameras that use the Panasonic CGA-S005 or Fuji NP-70 batteries. The lithium ion chemistry of this battery makes it 100% memory free. Unlike Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cad) batteries, lithium ion batteries don't have a "memory effect" which shortens their capacity. They can be partially charged and/or discharged without worry of shortened battery life. Are you concerned about protecting the environment? I purchased 2 of these for a recent vacation for my Panasonic LX3. These batteries last significantly longer than the stock battery I had received with my camera. Shot all day and never ran out of juice. Highly recommended.

I've not had the chance to use this battery yet, but just wanted to mention that the one I received was indeed exactly the one shown in the picture, except, as noted in another reviewer, listed at 1700mAh. Kinamax would seem to be the name of the distributor rather than the manufacturer, as there is no manufacturer listed on the cell.
As an aside, I actually weighed this battery, and it weighs about 85% of what the OEM one that came with my LX-3 does, so I assume it does not have the capacity of the Panasonic battery. But given the price of OEM cells, I suspect it's still a reasonable option.

Performs identically to the Panasonic battery supplied with new camera. I wanted at least one spare backup battery and heeding the advise of others in the LX3 forums I opted purchasing this much cheaper (than Panasonic) product which i'm perfectly happy with.
