Color audio video remote pan and tilt nany camera. July 31, 2010 Mark Cohen (NY, New York) Easy to monitor remotely, view with iPhone, blackberry anytime. Audio video streaming over the Internet, view in standard browser from anywhere. Color ip camera. Ethernet connection allows for east install to local hub or router with use of it's Ethernet port. Inludes static ip address.
Great camera-challenging setup February 25, 2010 D. Trexler Once it is set up, this camera works very well. The Panasonic support folks were friendly and helpful. After two phone calls I was still not able to connect to the internet site. During the third call the tech discovered the internet site was down (for the first time in 5 years).
For the money, this camera can't be beat. The picture is a bit grainy, but more than adequate for most security applications. The sound quality is excellent. The cameras pan and tilt functions are easily managed via the internet. I plan to add more cameras to the system in the future-probably wireless next time.
Network cam February 17, 2010 James A. Martin Hard to set-up. I has to be restated frequently to keep the web access working. Local access works pretty reliably.
Works great - We have three of them! January 17, 2010 Andre Choquette (Vancouver BC Canada) These camera's work great. No PC needed. Even if the internet goes down, the camera will automatically re-connect...
Web interface works fine even when viewing on an IPhone.
Not cheap, but worth every penny - we have both wired and wireless and both work fine...

The same setup as the blc1a applies:
First, ignore the shiny Windows CDROM in the box. Plug the camera into your router with your own network cable (they don't supply one!) and plug in the power supply. Wait a minute. If your router is 192.168.0.1, the camera should default to 192.168.0.253 (or 192.168.1.253 for a 192.168.1.1 router, etc).
From Firefox on the local network just go to the IP addess of the camera (as above) followed by ?mode=local and you should get the camera's built in web server. (The mode=local is essential, to activate it). Create an admin userid/password, hit enter. That's it.
Configuring the cameras for static addresses, different ports etc is all done via the web interface after that point, so still doesn't need Windows or IE in any way.
Don't forget to open the ports on your router if you hope to see the camera from outside your LAN. (the internet looking in). You might do a search for (your router) port forwarding.
I expected the video would be the same as the blc1a. It was worse. It was a little more grainy. A little less light sensitive.
The unit works well with the other panasonic cameras on the network. The sound works well. Only minor occasional chopping of sound. Much better than Trendnets camera 201, I think.
